On March 17, 2018, a man broke into the Slave Lake Dental Clinic and stole a number of items. Investigators identified the suspect, who had just been released from police custody earlier in the day.

Police located the suspect and arrested him on March 21. He now faces additional charges of break, enter and theft. He has been remanded in custody and will speak to all his charges in Slave Lake Provincial Court on April 4.

On March 16, 2018, Slave Lake RCMP laid charges in relation to a series of thefts happening at local businesses around Slave Lake.

It is alleged that the 23-year-old Slave Lake male was involved in six instances of theft and mischief between September 8, 2017 and March 15, 2018.

In total, the man is facing 13 charges.

The man has been released from custody by a justice of the Peace and was set to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court on March 21, 2018.

Over the past several months the Slave Lake RCMP have received an increasing number of thefts from local businesses. This has a greater focus on policing resources on those believed responsible for an increase in patrols in the affected areas.

Earlier in the month, four people were arrested and three were charged after alert employees notified police of suspicious activity in their store.

The Slave Lake RCMP encourages members of the public and store employees to remain diligent and to report any and all suspicious activity to the police.
