If you have a sweet tooth and like helping out local grads, than Roland Michener Secondary School’s annual cake auction might be for you. It’s being held on May 25th inside the Roland Michener senior high gym and starts at 7:00 p.m.
The graduating class hosts the auction each year to help raise money to cover the costs for the graduation ceremony. Last year the kids managed to bring in a whopping $19,975 through the auction to pay for facility rentals. Anyone who hasn’t been before, the gist is, each grad can enter up to two cakes that are then sold to the highest bidder. Usual auction protocol is followed, the auctioneer will yell out a number and it goes from there.
Though the school-year is coming to a close, Roland Michener Secondary School students are still keeping up with doing good deeds. Here are last week’s kids being recognized for helping a lending hand. Back row, (l. to r.) Neal Boer, Triston Maccagno, Harvie Tobias, Aiden Blocka, and Owen Pearson. Up in front, (l. to r.) Tyrece Anderson, Lexus Chambers-MacPherson, and Ashley Roberts.
