Three Wabasca residents are facing charges after reports of gunshots resulted in their arrest on April 20.
According to a release from RCMP Cpl. Ronald Bumbry, Desmarais RCMP first got a call about gunshots near a residence at about 11:15 p.m. on the above date. A vehicle was seen “fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.”
A short time later came a second call; more shots in another location – also near a residence.
“Police arrived at the residence and arrested three suspects that were located in a vehicle,” Bumbry’s report goes on to say. “Two shotguns were also seized.”
Charged with various offenses are a 30-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man and a 26-year-old man, all residents of the area. Only one of them – the 26-year-old – was charged with actually using a gun, along with assault and failing to comply. He was remanded in custody – the other two were charged and released. They were all to make their first court appearance on Apr. 27 in Desmarais Provincial Court.
