Slave Lake man one of seven charged in Chateh weapons case

A 33-year-old man from Slave Lake is one of seven charged in Chateh for firearm offences. The Chateh RCMP seized firearms on November 24 and 25. This was after investigating shots fired at a Chateh home with a man and two children inside, on November 18.

Investigation led the RCMP (including explosive and dog units) to a Chateh residence on November 24.
They arrested four people inside. Another turned themself into the High Level RCMP detachment. On Nov. 25, two more people were arrested. The suspects are a 33-year-old from Slave Lake, 38-year-old woman from Wetaskiwin, a 24-year-old man from Edmonton, a 31-year-old man from Ponoka, a 26-year-old man from Chateh, a 38-year-old woman from Chateh, and a 34-year-old man from High Level.

Chateh is six hours northwest of Slave Lake on the Dene Tha’ First Nation, west of High Level.
