High Prairie School Division has a new chairman of the board.

Slave Lake Trustee Steve Adams was elected to that position by the board at its organizational meeting on June 17. He succeeds long-time High Prairie trustee Joyce Dvornek, who has been chair for several years.

Joussard-Kinuso trustee Lorraine Shelp had also been nominated, but Adams won in a secret ballot.

Adams has served on the board since he won in a by-election in February of 2019.

Falher-Donnelly area trustee Karin Scholl was elected vice chair of the board by acclamation.

The next organizational meeting for the board is scheduled for Oct. 18, 2021.

Signing authority will be held by Dvornek and trustee Adrian Wong, due to their proximity to the central office.
