Through the scales

There’s an estimated 200-plus loads of logs per day going past the weigh scales in Slave Lake. For a couple of days last week every one of them had to go through the scales, thanks to a program run by the Commercial Vehicle Inspection station there. Sgt. Rob Livingston says a handful of problems were discovered, having to do with load dimensions, cargo securement and the like. It’s part of a focused safety program that goes on in various spots in the province where the log haul is prevalent, from October through March.
