Town receives over 400 repsonses to Devonshire Beach survey

Over 400 community members filled out the Town of Slave Lake’s survey regarding Devonshire Beach.
According to Christopher Brown, TOSL communications co-ordinator, it’s one of the best survey responses the Town’s received in the last three years.
“As of Monday morning we’ve had 416 responses filled out,” he says. “Those are the second best results since I’ve worked here. In the first 24 hours we had 250 responses – that’s impressive!”
The Leader was interested to see what type of questions the Town was asking, so we headed on over to and filled out the survey. It took about five minutes and including questions, such as how often one goes to Devonshire Beach and how would we rate the condition of the beach.
Brown says the survey opened up on July 11th and will be up and running until August 4th, 2017.
“We will be bringing forward the official results at one of the two regular Town council meetings in August,” he says. “We’re aiming for August 11th but it still could be brought forward at the August 22nd meeting as well.”
Also bringing brought forward to council next month are the results from another Town survey which focused on the downtown theme.
“That survey just closed today (July 24th) – we had 199 responses, 191 of those were filled out through online sources and the remaining was filled out on paper during the Riverboat Daze block party,” says Brown. “The summary will be out next month and available to view on the Town of Slave Lake website.”
