Lakeshore Regional Police Service teamed up with the RCMP to lower the boom on drivers in Driftpile and Sucker Creek on the Dec. 5 weekend. According to a news release from Lakeshore, five impaired drivers were taken off the road. And that was just for starters. Over 50 violation tickets were issued, most of them being “for operating motor vehicles while suspended and without a driver’s license.” Some were also found to be driving uninsured vehicles. Around 400 vehicles were checked.
Joining the LRPS in the weekend checks were High Prairie RCMP, K Division Police Dog Service, Peace River RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs Traffic Services. Expect more of the same joint force operations, says the release.
