Triple fatality in Hwy. 33 crash

All three occupants of a vehicle died on June 29 when it collided with another vehicle on Hwy. 33, 25 kilometres south of Hwy. 2.

According to an RCMP news release, the victims were a 61-year-old resident of Yellowhead County, a 65-year-old resident of New Brunswick and a 59-year-old Whitecourt resident. All three were in a Cadillac Escalade.

As for what caused the crash, RCMP say initial reports “indicate that the (Cadillac) Escalade crossed over the centre line where it collided with the Toyota (4runner).”

The occupant of the Toyota was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
