Indigenous Entrepreneur Day is scheduled at the Slave Lake Native Friendship Centre Sept. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a partnership between the Friendship Centre and Community Futures.
The idea with the event is to allow local Indigenous entrepreneurs to share their stories, says CF executive director Josh Friesen. The goal is for people to see that no matter where they live they can start a business.
“It’s not impossible,” says Friesen. The COVID-19 pandemic has made event planning difficult. However, as this is a smaller event, Community Futures hopes it can go ahead.
