Northern Lights Aquatic Centre has a busy schedule planned this April, as spring has finally sprung and Easter is right around the corner.

The aquatics centre will be closed for Good Friday, March 30.

Tim Hortons will be sponsoring all spring break public and family swimming. Dates are Easter Monday, April 2 public swimming 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. , April 3 public swimming 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., April 4 public swimming 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and family swimming from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., April 5 public swimming from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 pm and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and April 6 public swimming 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The pool will be holding a National Lifeguard Association course on April 13 to 15, and again on April 20 to 22; and the course is $300 to register. Swimmers must be 16 years of age by the end of the course, have current standard first aid, have bronze medallion and bronze cross certificate.

Swimming lesson registration is now open for April and May and the pool is accepting lifeguard applications. Aquatic Supervisor for the town Graeme Donn said pool attendance has been consistent this winter and currently the lifeguard course in April has five people registered.
