Where there’s hope….

There’s been a flurry of news items on the Jeffrey Dupres case lately – all emanating from one source. It can give the impression that there’s been some breakthrough in the 40-year-old missing person case, but there hasn’t. All that’s new is the RCMP have agreed to revive the case.

This apparently came about via the lobbying efforts of Jeffrey’s mother, Denise. She’s not giving up and recently hired an expert in the field to produce a picture of what her son might look like at age 43. It has been making the rounds and was included in the recent RCMP news release.

The release had the RCMP saying they believe Jeffrey is still alive and asking him to contact them.

The RCMP even went as far as to apologize for not being as diligent as they might have been.

All of that has been turned into news, but none of it brings the case any closer to resolution, or represents any kind of a breakthrough.

However, publicity sometimes produces tips and sometimes tips are useful. Let’s hope for the best.
