Why all the fuss?

Here’s something else that makes no sense. With regular docket court not happening, the only way your local newspaper can continue to report on it would be to attend ‘electronically.’ Given that court is open to the public normally, you would think this would be easy enough. But no, for mysterious reasons, the bureaucratic difficulties in getting permission to listen in are staggering. We were told last week we have to submit, in writing, a request for every single hearing we want to attend remotely.

In normal times, anybody can walk into the courtroom and listen. Nobody asks who you are. So why all the fuss now?
