Players trying out for the Slave Lake Wolves take part in a camp session on Aug. 8 as the team prepares to finalize its roster for the upcoming season. The Wolves are returning to the ice after a 12-year absence. The team was one of the founding members of the North West Junior Hockey League in 1994 and won the league’s first three championships before leaving the league in 2014 due to a lack of players. The Leader will publish a follow-up story once the roster is finalized.
