On May 9, 2025, a Ni Wi Ci Wakan Youth Centre Open House BBQ took place at the Slave Lake Native Friendship Centre. Ni Wi Ci Wakan runs the Weaving Wicihitowin For Learning youth program. It was held in front of the food bank’s doors. Participants had the choice to enjoy a hamburger or a hot dog. Jared Hueppelsheuser (Sowan) (left) and Ian Cameron ran the BBQ together and here they are posing for a photo.
